The buttons are both more pronounced and not so easily, accidentally, pressed. The TPU case, on the other hand, instantly fixed both of these issues. This was made even worse by the Mitre case. The dedicated buttons on the side! Whilst really useful they were, in my experience, way too easy to press accidentally and way too difficult to identify by touch alone. The reason for this was to fix one of the most annoying things about the NW-A105. It's gone now and has been replaced with a much cheaper TPU case. I bought a Mitre case, early on, which was fake-leather and pretty expensive. Experience with Cases and the Side Buttons I also bought, early on, an iWalk USB C Power Reserve - this is great and means I can extend the life of the battery by about 3 times if out and about and way from power.
I can live with that - you may not be able to. Using mine daily means a charge up most days. The playback time then varies - from 6 - 10 hours on average depending on what app you are using and how much you use the screen. I tend to use WiFi only to download tracks (Spotify) or books (Audible) or Podcasts then turn it off at all other times. All that said, it is not as bad as many say and being USB-C it is an easy device to keep topped up! Keeping Wifi off seems to be the best thing you can do to gain a little more battery life. I would have much preferred it to be twice as bulky if that would have meant a bigger battery could have been installed. This remains the single most disappointing thing with this player. There are a few mods to the system I have installed and I also mention volume caps, so it goes without saying, that any advice or information here is to be followed at your own risk. This is quite a detailed review, but hopefully it will be useful to some. I feel I know this device well and thought it would be useful to let others know how I use it now, the downsides, the upsides and, perhaps, a few tips along the way as a follow on from my last review which can viewed here LINK.
